GTA V Wishlist

There's rumours going around about a fifth GTA game! Wuut! GTA IV was obviously a failure in comparison to the awesome games that came before, but we can always hope for improvement! I figured I'd make a personal GTA V wishlist. HERE IT COMES:

1. A caucasian main character.
I hated TJ (yes I know it's CJ). That other dude in TBoGT wasn't my favourite either, but he was better than a full gangster kind of main character. Still, gimme a russian or american character to kick ass with, it's more fun!

2. Graphics? Who cares, FIX FPS.
Sure, the graphics of GTA IV where kinda pretty, but you can have the prettiest graphics in the world and still fail if the FPS drops down to like.. 20/30? What's the point in having amazing graphics if you're just showing them as screenshots basically? My eyes never really got used to the framerate in GTA IV, guess I'm not the only one.

3. Relatable and fun characters.
Remember Vice City characters? Tommy Vercetti, Ken Rosenberg, Lance Vance, or even Candy Suxxx?? That's right, you remember them!! Now the only character I can think of when I think GTA IV is Brucie. There is not one other memorable character in the whole damn game!

4. A sense of.. having no purpose.
The older GTA's where just a playground filled with possibilities for you to wreak havoc. I'd load up the game, and not even think about what I was going to do next. Just go for a little ethnic cleansing in the early morning, or why not weed out some prostitutes with your car while you're at it? Splashing heads with your sniper, or mowing down pedestrians ridiculously fast, you'd keep setting new goals for yourself without ever having a real purpose but to have FUN. Please, make GTA V have a baseline feeling that you're mainly there because you're having a good time, not that you're playing through a story.

5. Splitscreen co-op
No explanation required.

GTA is not about some emotional bullcrap story brahs, it's about the hit and run action. Filling up hookers with lead and other substances, being creative with chain exploding cars that flop about with unrealistic physics and unpredictable effects, and all that kind of shit you can imagine.

Let me hear your thoughts on this! What would you like to see changed in the next Grand Theft Auto game?

  7. It kind of sucked in IV that you never amounted to anything. You start at the bottom, crawl along the bottom and come out at the bottom.

  12. Seems like about the same list I would make, with the exception of one.

    Make. Firearms. Work. Properly.

Also making the cars control a bit better would be nice but now I'm just nitpicking.

  14. i really enjoyed the more realistic approach that IV took. I'd say keep that going and build on it. I love the realistic stories that Rockstar is able to churn out.

  23. NO MAN, NO! I DISAGREE!

GTAIV and San Andreas are my favorite GTA's, I like San Andreas because the area is huge and you have a military helicopter and Jet, and Las Vegas; and I liked GTAIV because the characters where hilarious and there's nothing like causing havoc that looks as real as a news report...

  31. I think you should be careful with the no purpose. I may not have played any GTA's but as a game designer I can tell you that if they are trying to give you a truly large and free world, if you aren't given directions you are likely to get bored fairly quickly, you need some sort of driving force or the explosions and action just gets... boring kinda like just cause 2

  32. Definitely not my favorite thing when the FPS drops to 15!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Make it more like San Andreas and Baldurs Gate

    ReplyDelete
  34. I totally agree with your wishlist

  35. You have some good points for the next installment. There were always some quirks with the GTA series. Great post, following!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm kind of the opposite opinion, i can never finish a GTA game because it's hard to follow the story and not just run around mindlessly killing people with a samurai sword

  38. haha soo much man, there's sooo many suggestions haha.

First would be seatbelts and second would be actual consequences for stuff.
Sure it's supposed to be fun, but its supposed to be a game too, and games gotta be competitive, and that has to include the risk of losing :P

    Following/supporting nice blog man.
